Mrs. Martha Davis, 57, of Baytown, died on April 7, 2008 at her residence, after a long struggle with heart disease. She was born to Jessy Franklin Gray, Jr. and the former Margery Eleanor Walker on April 25, 1950 in Three Rivers. She was a 1969 graduate of Three Rivers High School. Once settled in Baytown, she received her Associate’s degree in accounting from Lee College. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lillian Pauline and Elaine Frances Gray; grandparents, Clarence E. “Whitey” and Martha Goe Walker; and the former Texas State Representative from Live Oak County, Jessy F. Gray, Sr. and Pauline Campbell Gray. She is survived by her sons, Dr. Edgar (Eddie) Franklin Davis and John Davis; aunts and uncles, Margaret Campbell, Marion Walker, Mary Burnett, Marshal Walker, a host of cousins and a large extended family. Arrangements by San Jacinto Memorial Home in Houston. Mr. Harrison Mr. Charles Alton Harrison, Jr., of Greenbrier, Arkansas, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in Mississippi at the age of 41. Alton was born November 22, 1966 in Casa Grande, Arizona to Charles and Carolyn (Vaughn) Harrison. He attended George West High School and graduated in 1987. Alton joined the Army after graduation. Survivors include his mother Carolyn of Blanco, OK., two brothers Carl (Sandra) Harrison and Bradley A. Harrison, two nieces Megan and Morgan Shurtz and one nephew Devin Harrison, and numerous other family and friends. Arrangements were entrusted to Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home. Mr. McCumber Mr. Rocky McCumber, 43, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, following a sudden illness. He was born to John T. and Ann (Work) McCumber on Sept. 19, 1964, in Beeville. He was a tool pusher in the oilfield industry for Pioneer Drilling. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann McCumber; and his daughter, Jesseka McCumber. Survivors residing in George West include, one daughter, Mallerie McCumber; his father, John T. McCumber; one brother, John T. (Shellie) McCumber Jr.; his fiancée, Chance Byars; one step-daughter, Blake Byars; nieces and nephews, Jake, Taylor and Joseph McCumber; and many cousins and friends. Mr. Reagan Mr. Adam ‘Pete’ Reagan Jr., 87, died Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Christus Spohn Beeville following an extended illness. He was a Veteran of World War II serving his country in the US Army. He was born to Adam and Stella (Rutherford) Reagan Sr. on Feb. 27, 1921 in Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his children: Jackie Faye Sullivan, also his wives: Ethel Murray Reagan and Doris Moehrig Reagan; son, Jack “Cowboy” Reagan; brothers, Bill Reagan and Leon Reagan; sisters, Ruth Vosberg and Francine Hadley. She was born to Jose and Jacava Longoria on Oct. 24, 1927 in Zapata. She was born in Sherman on April 20, 1919, to Oda M. Wesson and Willie Eugene Freasier. She married Welby Joe Sciba in Swinney Switch on Sept. 1, 1937. She worked for Bonhams for five years and then for Zimmer Floral for 12 years as a designer. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Jan. 16, 1988, and two brothers, Russell Boyd Johnson and Billy Paul Freasier. Survivors include one daughter, Juanita Rathke of Goliad, two sons, Joe Eugene (Jeanette) Sciba of Florida and Kenneth (Nancy) Sciba of Beeville; one brother, Kenneth Freasier of George West; one sister, Lena Mae Haney of Cadiz; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Georgia Williams Custer Burger, age 88, of George West died on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 in a local nursing home following an extended illness. She was born to George and Gertrude Armstrong Williams in Alice on August 5. 1919. Her father passed away one day before she was born. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Gertrude Maguglin, two husbands, David W. Custer and Harry Burger, Jr. Her survivors include her children, Larry Custer of Three Rivers, David (Rose Marie) Custer of Corpus Christi, and Janice (Sonny) Johnson of Three Rivers; brother, Verlon (Esteline) Maguglin of Live Oak County and a sister, Lahla DuBose of Live Oak County; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren many nieces, nephews and friends. He married Martha Lopez Garcia in Three Rivers on June 7, 1987. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elidio and Carolina Garcia; three brothers, Jose H. Garcia, Alejandro Garcia and Antonio Garcia; two sisters, Elida Gutierrez and Frances Guajardo. His survivors include his wife, Martha Lopez Garcia of Three Rivers; three sons, Thomas (Michelle) Garcia of Corpus Christi, Carlos Garcia of Three Rivers, Gilbert A. Mrs. Mardock Frances Louise Mardock, age 58, died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at her residence in Corpus Christi following a sudden illness. She was a bookkeeper for Business Product Supply in Corpus Christi. She was born to Elde and Helen (Gazaway) Buetow on September 16, 1949 in Three Rivers. She married Richard Mardock on July 21, 1968 and they made their home in Kansas. She was preceded in death by her father, Elde Buetow. He was a retired teacher from GWISD and an ordained minister. He was a member of First Baptist Church of George West and served as a hospital corpsman in the US Navy. He was born to Richard and Nancy Birdie Sweeten Thomson in Phoenix, Arizona on December 20, 1930. He married Wilda Mary Phifer in Houston on June 14, 1963. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilda Thomson. His survivors include his daughters, Nancy (Scott) Thomson Esparza of Corpus Christi, Mary (David) Thomson Allen of Leakey; four grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth Esparza, Abigail Anee Esparza, Kayla Marie Allen, Kristopher David Allen; a brother, Paul Thomson of Phoenix, AZ; three sisters, Martha Jenkins of Phoenix, Arizona, Althea Harrison of Oklahoma, Rhea Janice Thomson of San Diego, California. Bradley Wayne Campbell, 56, of Three Rivers died on Friday, April 11, 2008. He was a land and construction surveyor and member of the Methodist Church. He was born to Lewis and Mary (Ingram) Campbell in Connelsville, Pennsylvania on January 13, 1952. He married Dolores Trevino in Live Oak County on August 10, 1984. His survivors include his wife, Dolores Campbell of Three Rivers; step-son, Joe (Michell) White of San Diego, CA; a brother, Johnny (Barbie) Campbell of San Antonio; two sisters, Kathy (Wesley) Graves of Austin, Susan (Danny) Ross of Three Rivers; step-grandson, Joseph Richard White. Mr. Haag Herman William Haag, age 93, of Three Rivers died on Saturday, April 12, 2008 in a local nursing home following an extended illness. He was a veteran of World War II in the U. S. Army. Mr. Haag was born to Ed and Clara Haag on November 13, 1914 in Taylor. He was married to Marie Emma (Roeske) Haag on September 23, 1942. Joye Dehnisch Thomas Harris July 19, 1921 – April 13, 2008 Joye Dehnisch Thomas Harris passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008 at her home in Sinton after a short illness. She was born July 19, 1921 to Robert Joseph and Jamesina Jenkins Dehnisch in Yoakum, Texas and moved to West Sinton with her family in 1925. Joye graduated from Sinton High School and attended Baylor University and the University of Texas. Her first husband, Alfred W. “Bub” Cherry, Jr. died four months prior to the birth of their son, Alfred “Bubba” Cherry (Thomas) in 1942. In 1950 Joye married Joseph W. “Joe” Thomas of Glen Campbell, PA. Joye and Joe lived in Sinton where both were employed by the Plymouth Oil Company. In 1954, daughter, Joye Lynn was born. Predeceased by Joe in 1990, Joye married Morris R. “Ray” Harris, Sr. in 1992. Joye was also preceded in death by her son Bubba Thomas, and husband Ray Harris. She is survived by her daughter, Joye L. Thomas of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Florence “Flossie” Thomas; granddaughter Jessica Thomas Bates and husband Tray Bates; grandson, Wendell J. Thomas; all of Sinton and granddaughter, Jennifer Thomas Adams of Zachary, LA. Joye was also blessed with four great grandsons, Austin Adams, Layton Thomas Bates, Walker Thomas, and Blake Thomas Bates. Joye is also survived by her step-sons Ray Harris, Jr. and wife Jan; John Harris and wife Betty; James Harris and wife Terry and Richard Harris and wife Kathleen, seven step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. Survivors also include her dear friends Eleanor Harren and Robert Dirks. Joye was a member of Sinton Presbyterian Church, Brush County Cattle Women, the U.S. Tennis Association and an honorary member of the Sinton Rotary Club. She served on the board of the Joe and Joye Thomas, Alfred C. “Bubba” Thomas Library which she gave as a gift to the City of Sinton in honor of Joe and “Bubba” Thomas. Joye was an advocate of a strong education. She was a generous contributor to many educational scholarships and also supplied many students with educational tools including books and supplies for their studies. In high school, Joye competed in state-level tennis. She participated in the Senior Games and the Senior Olympics where she medaled in tennis. Joye continued to be an avid tennis player and a three time ladies doubles champion at the Bud Collins Hackers Open in Long Boat Key, Florida. Her final championship was achieved at the age of seventy-three. Joye loved her family, friends, flowers, dancing, baseball, tennis and extensive travel from Hilton Head Island, S.C. to Costa Rica. She was a long-time supporter of Sinton High School athletics and the Corpus Christi Hooks Baseball Team. Joye rarely missed a home game! Joye could often be seen at lunch at her reserved table at Backstreet Café. Dressed head to toe in her whimsical outfits, Joye coordinated it all with her signature designer sunglasses, purses, shoes and accessories to match. She greeted everyone who walked by and treated each to a laugh with her latest joke or story. She was a very giving person to all on many occasions with her gifts of flowers, Backstreet chicken salad sandwiches and Sinton’s famous Aunt Aggie De’s Pralines. A special thanks to long-time employees Lisa Moody and David Perez. The family extends their appreciation to Dr. Frank Dehnisch and associates, the doctors, nurses and staff at Corpus Christi Doctors’ Regional Hospital, Jerry and Glenda Kane of Corpus Christi, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Vista Care Hospice in Corpus Christi and her primary caretaker, Eleana Salinas, for their care during her illness. Mrs. Martinez Otila Martinez, age 90, died on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Holgate, Ohio following an extended illness. She was born to Romano and Pinkie (Weston) Chapa in Annarose. She was preceded in death by parents, four brothers, Gilbert, Earnesto, Frank and Willie Chapa and three sisters, Leanor Chapa, Olivia Mandrell, and Lena Garcia. Her survivors include a son, Elmo (Aurora) Garza of Alice; a sister, Emilia Franco of Corpus Christi; granddaughter, Maribel Caserez of Defiance, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Sullivan Sandra Kathleen Sullivan, 57, of George West, passed on to eternal life on Wednesday, April 9, 2008. She was born June 11, 1950, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Tom Clark and Jerry Morgan Clark. She married Redgy Sullivan on July 18, 1972, in Fort Stockton. She cherished her life as a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She led her life by example and was a very fun loving person. She enjoyed working in her home and yard, and enjoyed sharing its beauty with family and friends. Watching her grandsons play sports, show animals, or play in her backyard was a highlight of her life. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in George West. She will be truly missed. She is survived by her loving husband, Redgy, of George West; two daughters, Tori Lyne and her husband J. of George West and Joanie Sullivan of New Braunfels; three grandchildren, Mason, Conner and Reagan Lyne; her father, Tom Clark of Balmorhea; her mother, Jerry Huggins of Odessa; and numerous family and friends.
