The Live Oak Medical Associates held and open house last Wednesday. Ray Harris, Clinic Administrator greeted visitors as they walked in the door. Karole Beasley, M.D., Frank Dehnisch, M.D., Theresa (Terri) Trevino, PA-C, and Terrance Meineke, PA-C, and other medical staff were also on hand to meet and greet the public.
The festivities were held at the clinic, located at 801 Houston St. in George West is over 3500 square-feet and features an on-site Quest Diagnostic lab and eight exam rooms.
The clinic’s administrator, Harris began working for hospitals in 1960 after serving in the Army. He said, “I have been working as an administrator my entire working career.”
Beasley was born in Seattle Washington and grew up in California. She said, “I attended the A&M equivalent-the University of California in Davis as an undergraduate student.” She went on to UCLA to earn her medical degree.
Beasley said, “I always wanted to be a doctor. My father was a physician and my mother was a nurse.” Beasley is married; her husband Tom is a real estate, oil and gas lawyer. She met Tom Beasley in San Antonio when her brother ‘set her up’ on a blind date. She said, “I have been with him ever since.” They have been married 28 years.
Dehnisch is from Mathis. He is married and has two sons. He started practicing medicine in the Beeville area in 1977. He said, “I am really happy to be in this area [Live Oak County]. It is a fairly inexpensive area to live in and there are so many things to do.” He and Beasley will take turns at the Live Oak Medical clinic (every other Monday) and the other days they practice at the Beeville clinic. Dennis said, “I like this area because it gives us time to be more familiar with our patients-more like an old time doctor.” To ensure all patients receive the time they desire with medical staff the clinic has a goal to hire another full-time physician.
Trevino is one of the Physician Assistants at the clinic. She has been practicing for twelve years and has been with the Beeville Medical Associates for six years. Her husband, Andrew Arthur, also practices with the Beeville Medical Associates. Trevino specialty is in family and geriatric medicine. She sees patients at the Woodridge and Hacienda nursing homes in Beeville and thoroughly enjoys working with senior citizens. Trevino believes, “God puts you where you need to be.”
Meineke has been a Physician Assistant for twenty-five years. He came to the Live Oak County area in 1990. He said, “I have been here so long all the kids know me and call me Opa.” Meineke received his medical training while serving in the Navy over 20-years. He started at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego as a Corpsman, and then attended George Washington University for his degree. When asked how he ended up in Beeville he said, “I was stationed at the NAS-Beeville in 1985 and I fell in love with the area.” Meineke is married and in his free time he enjoys fishing and riding motorcycles.
